Framework

A first-principles framework for examining change itself.

The Universal Change Canon starts before domain-specific interpretation. It asks what changed, how it moved, what drove it and what else it affected before deciding what the change means.

Universal Change Canon

Start earlier.

The Canon does not replace domain expertise. It provides a common foundation on which domain expertise can work. The domain shapes the content of the answers; the framework shapes the questions that come first.

Not higher. Not better. Earlier.
Stage 1

Universal Change Framework

Map the change before interpretation begins.

What changed?

Define the subject and establish observable anchor states.

How did it move?

Examine timing, energy, system connections and dynamic characteristics.

What drove it?

Separate triggers, underlying drivers and influence structures.

What else did it affect?

Map connected reactants and propagation rather than treating the change as isolated.

Stage 2

Purpose-Centric Impact Framework

Use the completed UCF Map for one declared purpose at a time.

PPrediction

What is likely to happen next?

EExplanation

Why did this happen?

IInterpretation

What does this mean?

MMitigation

How can harm or negative consequences be reduced?

AAdaptation

How can one live with or adjust to this change?

NInnovation

What new possibilities does this change create?

Why the sequence matters

Change information first. Purpose second.

A purpose directs attention. That is useful only after the underlying change has been mapped. If purpose enters too early, it can quietly decide what gets noticed and what gets ignored.

The Canon therefore separates the common map from the later purpose-specific analysis.
